The El Arish Community Sport & Recreation Association committee will be having a “soft” unveiling of signage in recognition of Francis Paxton Martin, who was the town’s first supervisor following WW1 with the establishment of soldier settlement communities by the government.
The signage is a part of the committees “Walking With The Generals” project that tells the story behind the names of our streets.
There will be an official unveiling of two signs later in the year, but the reason for this earlier event is because Francis Paxton Martin’s son and family will be in El Arish on Wednesday August 30.
Our committee invites you all to attend this event which will be followed by lunch.
